World Rivers Day at Abington Woods

Abington Woods is planning to host a World Rivers Day celebration on Saturday 26th September 2015. All members of the community are welcome to come and enjoy the free activities and the river that runs along the edge of the site. Abington Woods will be open from 11am till 3pm. You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch. Find out about the river and what we can do to look after it, build a bridge across it, explore what lives in it, race a boat down it - Winning boat gets a free weekend of family camping! Tea and coffee available. We hope to see you there.
Abington Woods is the former scout camp site on Church Lane. The entrance is near Church Close, just by Well Cottage and the footpath to the Recreation Ground. Contact abingtonwoods@gmail.com

It highlights the many values of our rivers, strives to increase public awareness, and encourages the improved stewardship of all rivers around the world. Rivers in virtually every country face an array of threats, and only through our active involvement can we ensure their health in the years ahead.
